ATOME Energy adds Trafigura co-founder to share register

ATOME Energy PLC (AIM:ATOM) on Friday informed investors that Trafigura co-founder and former Glencore oil trading executive Mark Crandall has taken a notable stake in the AIM-quoted hydrogen company.

The Crandall Family Trust, via Guernsey-registered vehicle CFT Ventures, has purchased 800,000 ATOME shares, a 2% stake, from ATOME’s pre-spinout parent company Molecular Energies.

CFT bought the shares at 100p per share, representing a premium to the prevailing market price of 93p.

"I am pleased that Molecular Energies has facilitated this transaction which enlarges and diversifies our serious strategic investor base,” ATOME chair Peter Levine said in a statement.

"Mark and I go back to the early Trafigura days. I am confident he will be an active and constructive shareholder going forward," Levine added.

Molecular Energies, meanwhile, retains 8.27 million ATOME shares representing around 20.5% of the company.
