Galliford Try wins prestigious London office refurbishment contract

Galliford Try Holdings PLC (LSE:GFRD) has won a £72mln contract to refurbish and remodel a prominent Grade II-listed office building in the City of London.

The contract was awarded to the construction group by St Martin's Property Investments, owned by the Kuwait sovereign wealth fund, to work on Adelaide House, which sits at the north-eastern end of London Bridge.

Galliford's Building arm has been tasked with bringing the nine-storey Art Deco building up to a Category A office standard, as well as "reconfiguration and enhancement" of the roof and riverside gardens.

Bill Hocking, chief executive of the London-listed company, said: "Our Building team has a proud record of delivering high-quality, sustainable office spaces within the capital."

Earlier in the week, Hocking had flagged that last year's contract-signing delays are now easing and that full-year profits are expected to be at the top end of City forecasts.
