Harbor Custom Development, a real estate company involved in land development, has appointed Jeff Habersetzer as its president and CEO on an interim basis following the retirement of CEO Sterling Griffin.
The news was revealed by Griffin at the company’s annual general meeting held on July 12.
Outgoing CEO Griffin expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the company for the past nine years and voiced confidence in Habersetzer's leadership.
"I am confident in Interim CEO Jeff Habersetzer's ability to manage this transition successfully. His determination and strategic vision for Harbor's future will provide the company with a solid platform for prosperity focused on enhancing shareholder value," he said.
Habersetzer, who has been with the company since 2019 and previously served as COO, general counsel and corporate secretary, brings extensive experience in real estate and corporate law to his new role.
“My main objective is to ensure the long-term stability of the HCDI brand,” Habersetzer said in a statement.
“I am confident we can achieve our objectives and increase shareholder value by pursuing our strong business model, maximizing our portfolio, and continuing our ongoing efforts to improve efficiency.”
During the meeting, shareholders also re-elected five current directors and appointed D. David Chandler as a new board member to fill a vacancy. Chandler is an independent director with over 35 years of experience in finance, strategic planning, business management, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and accounting.
Additionally, the shareholders ratified the appointment of Rosenberg Rich Baker Berman, P.A. as the company's independent registered public accounting firm for the year ending 2023. They also approved, on a non-binding advisory basis, the compensation of the company's named executive officers during the fiscal year that ended in 2022.
