Great Southern Copper PLC (LSE:GSCU) has appointed experienced mining sector operator Martin Page as its chief financial officer.
Page, who most recently worked as CFO at AIM-listed Trident Royalties and Toro Gold, will start on 1 August when current incumbent Paul Williams retires.
The company highlighted Page’s experience in the natural resources sector from exploration to operating assets, as well as in the capital and debt markets.
In a statement, Great Southern chairman Charles Bond commented: “Martin brings with him more than a decade of experience in finance within the natural resources sector. We look forward to him leveraging his extensive expertise within capital markets and corporate finance at this very exciting time for the company. I would also like to thank Paul for all of his excellent work for the company and we wish him the best in his retirement."
In May, Great Southern raised £1mln to continue its exploration activities in Chile, with a particular focus on the Teresita and Victoria prospects in Especularita, where high-grade copper has been identified in rock chip samples.
