Shares in Shoe Zone PLC (AIM:SHOE) marched ahead, adding 8% to 254p in early trade on Wednesday after the footwear retailer reported an “exceptional” month in sales.
Shoe Zone now expects adjusted profit before tax for the year to 2 October 2023 to be no less than £13.5mln, a statement said.
Trading since the last update in June exceeded expectations due to strong demand, with volumes up double digits on last year despite no price increases on its core ranges.
The company also said it experienced margin improvements due to lower container rates and favourable foreign exchange rates.
