When JD Wetherspoon PLC (LSE:JDW) provides a pre-close trading update on Wednesday investors will be keen to find out whether any of the soaring costs stunting the industry are abating.
Plans for pricing will be a hot topic too.
Shares in the pub group hit a decade-low last autumn but in 2023 rallied more than 70% to a 12-month high in May after its upbeat third-quarter update, before staggering back in recent weeks.
It’s a day for leisure companies, with café-bar operator Loungers PLC (AIM:LGRS)and ten-pin bowling chain Ten Entertainment Group PLC (LSE:TEG) also reporting.
Elsewhere, there should be an update from PageGroup PLC (LSE:PAGE) that is likely to echo some of the downbeat assessments of the global recruitment market from rival Robert Walters last week, and comes a day ahead of another sector peer, Hays.
