Technology Minerals confirmed there was a fire at associate Recyclus' LiBatt plant in Wolverhampton yesterday evening involving a single pallet of batteries.
The fire was contained within 40 minutes, Technology Minerals said in a statement with emergency services confirming that management protocols worked successfully.
The plant has reopened today as normal after consultation with all the appropriate agencies.
Technology Minerals added that the fire occurred in one of seven bays used to store batteries prior to processing in an area separate from the recycling plant.
There was no damage to the other six bays.
The batteries arrived at the facility through a third party and were being stored, ready for processing.
No other buildings or the plant were affected and no one was hurt, said the statement.
The commissioning phase of the plant is proceeding on track and had not been delayed, the statement added.
Technology Minerals owns 48.75% of Recyclus.
