CULT Food Science Corp (CSE:CULT, OTCQB:CULTF) said that independent laboratory testing conducted on its innovative cultivated pet food ingredient, Bmmune, revealed that it surpasses industry-defined standards for protein and essential amino acids, positioning it as a highly promising alternative to popular animal proteins like chicken and lamb.
Bmmune, a patented blend of high-protein nutritional yeast and fermentation products, serves as the foundational ingredient in CULT's groundbreaking Noochies! Cultivated Pet Food brand.
The independent laboratory results showed that Bmmune contains nearly double the amount of protein compared to the standards set by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO).
Notably, Bmmune significantly exceeds the standard levels for essential amino acids found in conventional dog foods. These amino acids, typically lower in plant-based proteins, including methionine and cysteine, are the limiting factors in most cases. However, Bmmune showcases levels that far surpass the AAFCO-set standards.
Furthermore, Bmmune proves to outperform popular animal proteins in various aspects, solidifying its position as a viable, single-ingredient, all-natural substitute to traditional animal proteins. In addition to its nutritional advantages, Bmmune is a low-input ingredient that minimizes the need for arable land, freshwater, and carbon-emitting farming practices.
In a statement, Joshua Errett, the vice president of Product at CULT, expressed his excitement about the test results, commenting: "Our testing confirms our Bmmune ingredient is a true alternative to conventional proteins, a single ingredient that soars past stated AAFCO minimums and stacks up against popular animal proteins. This is premium nutrition without the environmental harm - a future-proofed pet food!"
