Zinc Media (AIM:ZIN) climbed 7% higher in early deals on Wednesday after the TV, brand and audio production group released an upbeat trading statement ahead of today’s capital market day.
The company said total revenues were £31mln in the first half to end June, which is more than for the entire 2022 financial year.
“This figure […] represents Zinc's best performance at this stage in a financial year for over a decade,” the group noted, adding that all its divisions are seeing revenue growth despite the tough economic climate.
Zinc added that it is holding “highly advanced” talks that could generate a further £7mln of revenue this year.
The group also revealed that its newest television label, Atomic Television, which specialises in factual programmes, has won its first commission with a £1mln contract from an international bluechip broadcaster.
"The performance in H1 has been strong and positions the group for an excellent FY23. Some strong headwinds in the UK remain, however the high rate of booking in H1 and our increasingly international revenue mix means we are well placed to navigate this,” commented CEO Mark Browning.
Shares were trading 6p higher at 92.50 around 9.20am.
