Graft Polymer hails commissioning of expanded production facility

Graft Polymer (UK) PLC said its production capacity will be doubled by the end of this month, after the completion and commissioning of a plant in Slovenia.

The site will also help the company expand its product ranges and allow it to respond more quickly to customer requirements, the polymer modification specialist said.

Once operational at the end of July, it added, this will mark “a significant step towards the company being able to satisfy demand for modified polymers for use in creating cutting edge composite materials on an industrial scale”.

Production output at the Slovenian plant is set to rise to 6,000 tonnes per year, Graft said, with the production process "fully ESG oriented" as it uses "high levels of recycled material".

Chief executive Victor Bolduev said: “I am confident that it will play a major role in transforming our ability to win larger customer mandates and strengthen competitive positioning within the speciality chemicals sector.”

He said the company is enjoying “increasing commercial momentum in a promising market with a continued strong outlook for this year”.

The company operates in the global polymer market and the global drug delivery devices market, where Graft pointed to industry growth that is expected to top 5% for the rest of the decade.
