Versarien PLC (AIM:VRS, OTC:VRSRF) has said it is making progress on its turnaround strategy with significant cost savings already achieved.
Parties, too, are interested in its up-for-sale Hanwha businesses, though the timing of any deal remains uncertain, the graphene specialist said.
“In summary, the turnaround strategy, which focuses on a light manufacturing model, is continuing as planned,” it added.
"As a result of the cost cuts unaudited LBITDAE (loss before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation and exceptional items) is running at a much lower level than in the first six months of the financial year."
At the ongoing operations, Cemetene has been added to the shortlist of the Global Cement and Concrete Association for a pioneering scheme to develop low-carbon concrete.
Graphene materials have also been supplied for a trial pour in the Netherlands using recycled construction materials, processed using renewable energies.
Further testing, meanwhile, is planned with Banagher Precast Concrete and other UK and European concrete manufacturers.
In Graphene-Wear, material is being supplied to Umbro for the next season’s ranges including masterbatches for thermoplastic polymers.
