BioHarvest Sciences Inc. (CSE:BHSC, OTC:CNVCF) chief medical officer Dr. Brian Cornblatt can speak to the effectiveness of the company's red grape-based supplement VINIA from his first-hand experience using the product.
After being misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis for seven years of his life, VINIA was one of a dozen supplements that Cornblatt used to heal.
“I was able to reverse (my symptoms) with supplements including VINIA,” he told Proactive ahead of his keynote address at the Collision technology conference in Toronto.
VINIA is designed to improve cardiovascular health and has been clinically proven to significantly increase arterial dilation. The supplement enhances blood flow and the delivery of oxygen, improving physical energy and mental alertness.
BioHarvest has developed a patented bio-cell growth platform technology that allows it to grow the active and beneficial ingredients in plants at an industrial scale without needing to cultivate the entire plant. It launched VINIA in the United States in 2021.
In addition to his keynote address on the HealthConf stage, Cornblatt also hosted a roundtable discussion on the topic "Can biotech and tech help build products sustainably?"
Cornblatt highlighted the company's initiatives around sustainability while optimizing its end products to promote longevity and health.
“With our AgTech platform, backed up with more than a decade of research and development, tens of millions of dollars in investment, and lots of patents, we can grow these plant products and plant cells in indoor bioreactors free of any heavy metals, pesticides, insecticides, or herbicides,” he told Proactive.
“It’s very clean and consistent, without needing a lot of energy, water, or chemicals.”
The company’s innovative approach allows it to conserve these resources, in addition to reducing the amount of agricultural land required to produce its plant ingredients.
“Throughout the course of the year, we’ve displaced the need for about 60 acres of land, so we’re helping the planet in that we don’t need to utilize all of mother nature’s resources to do what we do,” Cornblatt said.
“Right now, the agriculture sector needs thousands and thousands of acres of land to produce food and dietary supplements, but we can bring this indoors and create sustainable, consistent products that can not only be the basis of foodstuff but also new emerging solutions for healthcare.”
Despite only having launched one product to date BioHarvest is on track to achieve profitability this year.
The company also recently announced that it will be expanding VINIA's reach by targeting new markets across the categories of functional coffee and decaffeinated coffee pods, protein bars, and electrolyte beverages.
Cornblatt is positive about BioHarvest's future. “From an investment point of view, it’s a really exciting time to be a part of this company that’s just about to explode," he said.
