Victory Battery Metals Corp (CSE:VR, OTC:VRCFF) has provided an update on its recent exploration highlights, led by the company’s high-grade discovery at the Smokey Lithium project in Nevada.
The diversified investment corporation said its geology team confirmed “outstanding” assay results on diamond drill hole (DDH) 23-01 at its Smokey project, verifying 2022’s discovery and comparing favorably to American Lithium Corp (TSX-V:LI)’s infill drilling results at the TLC lithium claystone deposit located 22 miles to the southwest.
Victory noted that it is now planning to define the subsurface extensions of the thick claystone interval reported in DDH 23-01 by mapping basement faults and potentially conductive claystone units to outline the depth and continuity of favourable thick high-grade lithium claystone units present on the property before the next phase of drilling.
As well, the company stated that work programs and analysis are in “full swing” at its Georgia Lake lithium project in northwestern Ontario and its Tahlo Lake property in British Columbia.
An airborne magnetometer survey was completed earlier in the spring at Tahlo Lake followed by the taking of till samples across the trend of the magnetic highs shown in the airborne survey that are commonly associated with Babine district copper-gold porphyry deposits, while a previously unmapped intrusive was encountered at the southeast corner of the Georgia Lake property, Victory Battery Metals said.
Furthermore, the company stated that it is in the preparatory stages to launch an initial geological reconnaissance program this summer on its Stingray properties in Quebec, with the main focus being on Victory’s claims underlain by a belt of greenstone that parallels the greenstone belt underlying Patriot Battery Metals’ Corvette property to the north.
