Sidney Resources Corporation (OTC:SDRC) subsidiary Irish Metals LLC has signed a non-disclosure and non-circumvent agreement with Xtra Energy Corporation designed to lay the groundwork for collaboration on ore refinement and processing techniques, the company announced.
Irish Metals is a clean water, refining, exploration and extraction company, and Xtra Energy is an antimony exploration company focused on developing its flagship project in Nevada.
The ultimate goal of the deal is to develop an antimony producing plant in Nevada in close proximity to Xtra’s American antimony project, which would serve as a test case for Irish Metals’ antimony processing.
"Sidney Resources Corporation (OTC:SDRC) is looking forward to collaborating with the experienced team at Xtra Energy Corp that has demonstrably driven Xtra Energy forward to re-establish the USA as an independent antimony producing nation not to be dependent on potential foreign supplies,” Sidney Resources CEO Sean-Rae Zalewski said in a statement.
Essentially, Irish Metals has enhanced antimony processing with near-zero emissions and enhanced economics, the company said, with a new method it says is the first significant modification to the antimony extraction process in decades.
The process uses minimal water and significantly reduced quantities of reagents, and in addition to antimony, it can recover silver, copper, cobalt, nickel, zinc, and manganese. Those value-added metals can be the deciding factor in project profitability, the company said.
Crucially, it also generates less waste. Most antimony concentrates contain arsenic and mercury which are volatile and difficult to remove from the gas stream even with modern emissions, the company said.
“Xtra Energy is focused on executing its development of the antimony production with the best environmental impact,” Xtra CEO Mac Shahsavar said.
“SDRC's Irish division provides a significant step forward in antimony production that is significant in production of non-wet antimony production that is much more friendly to the environment. Since the United States doesn't have any antimony producing mine; it is XTPT's objective to change that.”
