Telecom Plus results all about customer growth - analysts

Telecom Plus' results should not feature too many surprises, analysts predicted

Telecom Plus PLC (LSE:TEP)’s full-year results are unlikely to feature many surprises, though customer numbers and bad debt figures are still worth watching, according to AJ Bell analysts.

FTSE 250-listed Telecom Plus will provide full-year results on Tuesday, June 27, having already confirmed adjusted earnings would likely sit above £95mln in April.

A total dividend of 80p will be paid out for the year meanwhile, up from 57p in 2022, as the company proves optimistic on meeting previously laid out guidance.

“Analysts and shareholders will look to customer churn and for any sign of increased bad debts” though, AJ Bell noted, as Telecom’s share price also retracts from highs prompted by the collapse of rival energy suppliers in recent years.

A long-term sourcing deal with E.ON should help to protect Telecom Plus subsidiary Utility Warehouse from any future price shocks and similar collapse, analysts continued.

Investors will also eye an update on Telecom Plus’s aim of adding 1mln customers by 2027, AJ Bell added, with the company serving around 2.7mln people as of October.

Analysts anticipate Telecom to forecast £101mln of pre-tax profit for 2024 in the update, alongside a 92p per share dividend.
