Shares in Creo Medical Group PLC (AIM:CREO) rose 10% in the first 30 minutes of trading today after the company announced that its Speedboat Inject device was used for the first time in Europe to carry out an upper gastrointestinal (GI) procedure.
The device was used to remove a 7cm x 5cm cancerous lesion in a little under two hours. The patient was discharged from hospital shortly after the procedure.
Creo said it expects the device to be widely adopted for upper GI procedures in the coming months.
The shares, up 52% in the year to date, advanced 3.31p to 36.96p early on.
