In response to a conservative-led boycott that impacted its status as America's top-selling beer, Bud Light is launching a high-profile ad campaign and forging celebrity partnerships to win back consumers, according to reports from the US.
The "Easy to Summer" TV commercial reportedly features NFL celebrities such as Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Dak Prescott, while country music artists Tyler Braden and Seaforth headline a national music tour, the Bud Light Backyard tour.
The backlash began when Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender woman who openly shares her transition journey online, was sent a promotional beer featuring her image by Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE:BUD).
The move ignited criticism from conservative circles, leading to calls for a Bud Light boycott.
High-profile conservatives, including Kid Rock and commentator Ben Shapiro, publicly rebuked Bud Light. This led to a significant drop in Bud Light sales, and the beer was recently surpassed by Modelo Especial as the best-selling beer in the US.
