TikTok’s chief operating officer, V Pappas, is stepping down from their role after a five-year tenure, to shift their focus on entrepreneurial interests.
They will, however, continue to advise the company during the transition period.
TikTok CEO, Shou Chew, in his announcement to the staff, also introduced Zenia Mucha, who has spent 20 years at Disney, as the new chief brand and communications officer.
Adam Presser, TikTok's chief of staff, will step into the role of head of operations.
This leadership reshuffle at TikTok, owned by China's ByteDance, comes amidst increased scrutiny over the company's links with China.
Several US states have banned the app on government devices citing fears of data access by China, with similar actions seen in Canada and Australia.
