Planet 13 Holdings Inc (CSE:PLTH, OTCQX:PLNHF) revealed that it has secured its first Nevada state consumption lounge license, which was approved by the state following the receipt of a prospective license from the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board in December 2022.
In a statement, Larry Scheffler, Co-CEO of Planet 13, expressed his excitement about the milestone, saying: "Receiving this confirmation from the state allows us to move on to the final design and buildout of our consumption lounge."
Scheffler added: "The consumption lounge will be a huge step to unlocking the full potential of the SuperStore as a cannabis destination. It will give customers the ability to try products prior to buying, watch live entertainment, and enjoy food and drink in a social setting that matches Planet 13's incredible experiential design standard."
The forthcoming consumption lounge will feature dedicated space for live entertainment and will be available for private events, brand launches, and other unique gatherings. Construction of the consumption lounge is slated to be completed in the first quarter of 2024, pending final approvals at the county level.
The expansion aligns with Planet 13's strategy of transforming the Las Vegas SuperStore into a remarkable cannabis destination where customers can witness the production of cannabis products, make purchases, and consume them all under one roof. These additional attractions, stores, entertainment, and events are expected to boost footfall, increase facility utilization, and improve profit margins.
In addition to its operations in Las Vegas and Orange County, California, Planet 13 holds a medical marijuana treatment center license in Florida and a conditional Social-Equity Justice Involved dispensing license in the Chicago region of Illinois. The company's overarching mission is to establish a globally recognized brand renowned for its top-tier dispensary operations and innovative cannabis products.
