Progressive Planet, a leading developer of CleanTech solutions for the planet, has appointed Steve Gurney as its new president as the company enters the commercialization phase of its carbon technologies.
Gurney, previously president of Progressive Planet Products Inc, brings 33 years of experience in operations, including scaling up production from startup to millions of packaged products annually.
In his expanded role, Gurney will spearhead the expansion of Progressive Planet's technologies, Progressive Planet said in a statement.
The company recently announced plans to break ground on a pilot plant for PozGlass 100G in 2023 and scale up manufacturing for CARBON PK natural fertilizer in 2024. PozGlass, which replaces cement and sequesters CO2, is made from post-consumer glass using a patent-pending process.
The proprietary formulation has already reduced fertilizer application by 50% on 617 acres in Western Canada this year, according to Progressive Planet.
In addition to Gurney's appointment, the company has named Ian Grant as vice president of strategy and investor relations. Grant, previously the COO, will focus externally while remaining an integral part of the leadership team.
"Progressive Planet has now entered into an aggressive commercialization phase of major cement and agricultural innovations," CEO Steve Harpur said in a statement.
"At the same time, we are committed to increasing investor awareness and delivering shareholder value. Moving Steve and Ian into their new roles sets up Progressive Planet towards success on both fronts."
As part of the company's annual reviews, Progressive Planet has granted a total of 1,600,000 stock options to directors, officers, and insiders, in accordance with its stock option plan. These options have an exercise price of $0.275 and a three-year term.
