Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) has resumed payments to Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)-owned Google Cloud for its services after a period of not doing so following the acquisition of the social media platform by Elon Musk, according to Bloomberg.
Under new CEO Linda Yaccarino, discussions have been underway to repair the relationship and expand the partnership to potentially include advertising and Google's use of Twitter's API.
There is now support from Musk for this new direction and no current issues between the companies, according to the Bloomberg article.
Since acquiring Twitter, Musk has been striving to reduce costs, including cloud computing expenses.
Twitter has reportedly been paying Google Cloud an estimated $200-$300 million annually, primarily for data analysis and machine learning. The partnership between the two companies was first established in 2018.
