First Mining Gold Corp. (TSX:FF, OTCQX:FFMGF) said exploration results from the Swain and Sol d'Or properties in the Birch-Uchi Greenstone Belt (BUGB) project in northwestern Ontario, have revealed promising findings, including new gold mineralization in favorable geological settings, indicating the potential for significant discoveries.
The work conducted in 2022 and the planned activities for 2023 encompass various components such as soil geochemistry, prospecting and mapping, airborne geophysics, and diamond drilling programs. The efforts aim to unlock the full potential of the Swain and Sol d'Or properties.
Among the highlights of the exploration advancements, First Mining Gold identified crucial exploration elements in the Grace Deformation Zone, spanning a structural strike length of 6.5 kilometres (km).
The company also made a significant discovery of a new gold-in-soil anomaly, with a gold (Au) assay of 724 parts per billion (ppb) Au, leaving room for expansion and further investigation.
Furthermore, rock grab samples collected from the Sol d'Or property included a high-grade sample of 34.7 grams per ton (g/t) Au, confirming the potential for a high-grade host environment. Additional samples from the Swain property yielded promising results as well, including one with 9.3 g/t Au.

First Mining Gold completed a 150-line km airborne geophysical survey with advanced processing and modeling techniques, supporting their forward targeting efforts. The survey identified six discrete electromagnetic conductive plate models, favorable for further targeting and resolution advancement.
The positive exploration results mark a significant step forward for First Mining Gold as it continues to advance projects in the region, with the potential to enhance the company's already successful Springpole Project.
