The Bank of England meeting should be the big news in the City on Thursday.
Financial market and economists suggest a 50bps interest rate hike is 95% likely after Wednesday's CPI figures came in hotter than expected.
CPI rose by 8.7% in the 12 months to May 2023, unchanged from April.
Most analysts were expecting levels to drop.
"News that there’s been no change in the headline CPI rate will send something of shiver through even the hardiest spectator," said Danni Hewson, head of financial analysis at AJ Bell.
Premier Inns owner Whitbread PLC (LSE:WTB) updates on trading amid reports that it is looking to sell some of its pubs and restaurants, which include chains such as Brewers Fayre and Beefeater.
As for Thursday's update, some analysts expect the Premier Inn owner to impress shareholders with its first-quarter trading.
Another FTSE 100 company to keep an eye on its DS Smith, where machinations of the global cardboard market are apparently going to have investors on the edge of their seats.
