Six million disabled people in Britain will receive a £150 payment to help with the cost of living.
Payments will be made to anyone who is eligible for disability benefits with the money to be credited between June 20 and July 4.
The one-off bursary is part of a wider support package for the most vulnerable worth £1,350.
Mel Stride, secretary for work and pensions, recognised that some of the UK's most vulnerable households are feeling the bite from the cost-of-living crisis.
Stride said: “Our commitment to halving inflation and ultimately getting it back to the 2% target will relieve a lot of financial pressure for us all, but this extra support will help over six million disabled people right now.”
May’s consumer price index (CPI), an indicator of inflation, is due on Wednesday.
Headline CPI is expected to drop from 8.5% to 8.7%, while analysts think core CPI will remain around the 6.8% mark.
Though analysts may feel a bit more relaxed after Tuesday’s supermarket inflation figures.
The rate dropped to 16.5% from 17.2% the month before, data from Kantar found.
