Talon Energy Walyering gas field joint venture progresses toward commercial production

Talon Energy Ltd (ASX:TPD) is making strides on the development of the Walyering gas field, a joint venture between Talon (45%) and Strike Energy (55% – operator) in the Perth Basin.

Advancing well

Construction is advancing well and Talon’s partner and operator of the project, Strike Energy, estimates that it will be mechanically complete within the next two weeks.

Since the last update, Strike has been working away on construction, which has progressed without incident and in line with a revised schedule.

All processing equipment is now secured in place, condensate tanks and offload facilities are constructed, utilities installation complete and Parmelia Gas Pipeline (PGP) connection constructed.

Pipework and instrumentation are to be installed along with final electrical connections in the coming days.

From there, the commissioning process and commercial production operations will follow, with a plan in place to send commissioning gas into the PGP for sale once permissions to introduce hydrocarbons have been granted by the regulator.

Under a week to commission

The physical commissioning process is estimated to take under a week and then ramp up to steady-state operations.

Strike’s production team has been executing production rehearsals and other operational readiness exercises in preparation for daily production.

The joint venture has also executed a condensate transportation services agreement with Road Trains Australia, which has direct experience in the trucking, handling and delivery of condensate liquids from Western Australia to Port Bonython.
