Zinc8 Energy Solutions Inc (CSE:ZAIR) has announced the appointment of Robert F. Parker, an experienced entrepreneur with 18 years of experience in ClimateTech, Renewable Energy, and Sustainability, to its board of directors.
The company noted that Parker brings a diverse skill set to its board, having worked as an entrepreneur, executive, consultant, policy advisor, project developer, and venture and angel investor. It said Parker's expertise will be invaluable as Zinc8 pursues growth opportunities in the US Energy Storage Industry.
"Mr. Parker brings a unique range of skills to the Zinc8 board. His extensive experience in the New York financial markets and his years of leadership in energy sustainability, as well as his deep knowledge of the rapidly developing Clean Tech markets, will greatly assist the company as it pursues growth opportunities in the U.S Energy Storage Industry," commented Ron MacDonald, president and CEO of Zinc8 Energy Solutions, in a statement.
The company noted that Parker has been actively involved in the ClimateTech ecosystem, working with various organizations and entities to drive the clean energy transition. As the managing partner of Honu Hoku Advisors and an adjunct professor at New York University, Parker has supported the development and scaling of early-stage companies. His previous roles include serving as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and being an Innovation Advisor to NYSERDA.
In addition to the board appointment, Zinc8 Energy Solutions also said it has made its first milestone payment to Digital Energy Corp as part of its Initial Deployment Agreement. Digital Energy successfully achieved the first milestone in the Zinc8 battery demonstration project at Fresh Meadows Community Apartments in Queens, New York.
This project marks Zinc8's first private-sector installation of a 100kW/1.5MWh storage system.
Zinc8 said it will issue a total of 126,615 shares, valued at $0.26 per share, to Digital Energy as the first tranche milestone payment. The companies plan to collaborate further to identify similar projects in New York State and the Northeast USA for the Zinc8 Energy Storage System.
