Nothing has said it plans to launch its Nothing 2 phone on July 11, 2023.
The Google Ventures-backed tech company started by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei revealed little on its webpage apart from the launch date.
However, the new handset is expected to be a strong competitor to Apple’s iPhone series, as well as Samsung’s Android devices.
Forbes reported that the company has been able to source superior components for the second-generation phone.
While its initial device, launched last year, included the mid-range Snapdragon 7 series chipset, the updated version will include the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Hen 1 chip under its shell.
It will also have a lower carbon footprint than the first-generation model but a bigger battery inside.
“Phone (2) will have more premium experience across the board compared to Phone (1), competing with the very best flagship smartphones on the market today,” Pei told Forbes.
According to Pei, Nothing has one of the highest rates of people switching from iOS to Android at between three and four times the average across some markets, per the Forbes report.
