Voyageur Pharmaceuticals has highlighted a new white paper that outlines the imaging properties of its product SmoothX and its potential to optimize abdominal CT examinations and maximize patient satisfaction.
The white paper, titled ‘SmoothX: A Promising New Positive Oral Contrast Agent for CT’ was authored by Alec J Megibow, MD, MPH, FACR.
Voyageur said that the white paper comes after a recent blinded study conducted at the Canada Diagnostic Centre in Calgary in which SmoothX exhibited nearly identical imaging properties as the established oral contrast agent Readi-CAT 2.
The company noted that the taste test study, which found the majority of participants preferred the flavor of SmoothX, could lead to heightened patient satisfaction and increased compliance during abdominal CT scans.
Voyageur Pharmaceuticals is developing barium, iodine and carbon Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and high-performance, cost-effective imaging contrast agents.
