This week, the SEC announced a series of charges against Binance and Coinbase, two of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges.
Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange, alongside its CEO and founder Changpeng Zhao was charged by the SEC for breaching 13 regulations on Monday.
A day later, Coinbase was whacked with its own set of charges by the SEC for allegedly operating its platform as an unregistered securities exchange, broker, and clearing agency while failing to register as these services, depriving investors of regulation and protection.
