Becket Invest PLC (LSE:TAB), a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), has begun trading on London's main market after a small fundraising.
It raised a total of £820,000 as part of the initial public offer at a price of 1p, with the broking assistance of Peterhouse Capital.
The SPAC has been formed to acquire an established business in the technology sector, specifically focused on big data, eCommerce and online marketplace, according to its website.
Becket is led by John Taylor, currently chairman of AIM-quoted Asimilar Group PLC and Aquis-quoted Tap Global Group PLC, who also was an executive director of TECC Capital, a SPAC that acquired EDX Medical Group via a reverse takeover last year.
The second non-executive director is Martin Lampshire, a veteran corporate broker at the likes of Teather & Greenwood, Charles Stanley (LSE:CAY), Hichens Harrison and Daniel Stewart (AIM:DAN), with current roles as an executive director of GRIT Investment Trust PLC (LSE:GRIT) and as a consultant to Peterhouse Capital.
