In a bid to leverage its rapid exploration and development experience, Discovery Alaska Ltd (ASX:DAF) has executed a formal option agreement with 1Minerals Corp to acquire the Mia Adjacent Lithium Project.
The Mia Adjacent Project covers 120 square kilometres of lithium-prospective ground, directly adjacent – as the name suggests – to Q2 Metal’s Mia Lithium Property, where outcropping lithium has already been confirmed at the Mia-1 and 2 lithium prospects.
It hosts similar geology to its namesake project with historically mapped Vieux Comptoir pegmatite dykes, according to the Quebec Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (QMERN).
DAF believes the project area is prospective for a spodumene-bearing pegmatite trend, the hard-rock form of lithium mineralisation.
In Tier-1 district
“The company is excited to commence exploration works at the strategic Mia Adjacent Lithium Project in the well-renowned James Bay lithium district,” Discovery Alaska director Jerko Zuvela said.
“This is a significant opportunity to utilise our exploration and development experience to rapidly progress exploration works at the project, located within a Tier-1 jurisdiction and close to key lithium prospects.”
The company has already completed due diligence on the project and intends to begin exploration planning works targeting prospective sites identified by DAF’s geologist during that process.
