Unity Software shares got a big boost following the revelation of Apple’s new augmented reality headset, Vision Pro.
The software company has developed a platform for creating and operating interactive real-time 3D content, and that platform will be used in Apple’s headset.
Investors sent Unity stock over 17% following Apple's announcement on Monday. Unity shares opened around US$36.60 on Tuesday morning.
During Apple's developer conference, it was revealed that Unity-based games and apps would have full access to VisionOS features, such as high-resolution rendering and native gestures.
Unity, known for its cross-platform game engine, expressed excitement about delivering real-time 3D tools and capabilities to Apple Vision Pro.
Unity's significant gain marked its second-largest single-day increase since its IPO in 2020.
