Cooper Metals Ltd (ASX:CPM) has completed a reverse circulation (RC) drilling operation at Ardmore South, part of the Mt Isa East Copper-Gold Project in northwest Queensland.
The drill program comprised 13 RC holes, spanning a total of 1,745 metres, testing several Induced Polarisation (IP) and geochemistry targets along a 1.5-kilometre trend.
Among them were high-priority targets, including the strong IP chargeability anomaly recently identified at Ardmore South that is around 500-metre long and has strong depth potential
Looking ahead, the assay results of the 563 one-metre drill hole samples, currently under laboratory analysis in Mt Isa, are expected to be released this month.
Coincident copper-gold anomalism
Cooper managing director Ian Warland said: “RC drilling is now complete at Ardmore South testing a strong IP chargeability anomaly with coincident copper-gold anomalism.
“Five hundred and sixty-three samples have been sent to the laboratory in Mt Isa and are expected in mid to late June.
“We look forward to updating the market as results come to hand.
Forward plan
Cooper’s next steps at Ardmore South include:
- RC drilling results at Ardmore South;
- VTEM ground truthing;
- ongoing geochemical sampling and mapping
