Cordiant Digital's portfolio company snaps up Polish towers business

Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Ltd (LSE:CORD) said its portfolio company Emitel has acquired American Tower (NYSE:AMT)’s subsidiary in Poland, ATC Polska.

According to a statement from the investor in digital infrastructure, ATC Polska’s portfolio will comprise 65 modern lattice towers which are leased to mobile network operators (MNO) via inflation-linked contracts with long tenors.

The new portfolio, Cordiant said, has available load capacity for additional lease customers and is distributed across locations which complement Emitel’s network.

Emitel’s total site portfolio as part of the transaction will increase to 664, of which over 630 will host telecom equipment.

Cordiant said this strengthens Emitel’s telecom infrastructure segment, where it is a leading independent developer and operator of telecom infrastructure and provides hosting and other services to MNOs such as Orange and T Mobile.

"We are delighted to announce the acquisition of ATC Polska,” said chief executive of Emitel, Andrzej Kozlowski.

“This portfolio is highly complementary to Emitel's and this transaction will allow us to deepen our relationship with key MNOs and bolster our high-growth telecoms infrastructure segment."
