Lithium Energy Ltd (ASX:LEL) has hit paydirt at its Solaroz Lithium Brine Project in Argentina thanks to a diamond drilling campaign in the heart of South America’s Lithium Triangle.
While work is still in progress, the sixth drill hole in the company’s 10-hole, 5,000-metre campaign has intersected conductive brines in sandstone units from 150 metres — a promising indication of the hole’s potential.
Meanwhile, lithological similarities to LEL’s fourth drill hole (which reportedly hosts 473.5 metres worth of lithium-rich brines) give the company hope that it’s onto another strong lithium brine target.
Lithium Energy plans to drill the sixth hole to roughly 580 metres deep, targeting the upper and lower aquifers. The explorer recently added a third drill rig to the Solaroz program, ramping up the campaign on its way to a maiden resource.

LEL has set the drill bit spinning along a 15-kilometre zone at Solaroz’s best-known lithium brine prospects, most recently on the Chico VI concession.

Three diamond rigs are finalising the fourth, fifth and sixth holes, where work to date has defined extensive lithium brine hits and concentrations up to 555 milligrams a litre.
Hole six is just 2.5 kilometres east of the project’s fourth hole, where completion is pending and early-stage lithium concentrations are as high as 508 milligrams/litre.
With three rigs in operation and more results on the way, Lithium Energy will keep the market up to speed on its progress towards a maiden resource in the world-renowned Lithium Triangle.
