Ximen Mining Corp (TSX-V:XIM, OTCQB:XXMMF) said it is getting ready to start engineering and technical studies at its Kenville Gold Mine project after it received its final permits under the Mines Act and Environmental Management Act.
The engineering and other technical studies fulfill the conditions specified in the permits, which are necessary before commencing mine development, the company said in a statement.
Among the current activities at the Kenville Gold Mine project are the hydrogeological assessment and selection of sites for two groundwater monitoring wells. Once the chosen locations receive approval, drilling will take place.
Additionally, Ximen Mining has commissioned the engineering design for contact water capture and conveyance in the new portal and rock dump area. Furthermore, an initial engineering review and assessment of the drainage channel have been undertaken, and an application for an explosives storage and use permit has been filed, with a site inspection to be scheduled.
In parallel with these efforts, the company has initiated detailed design drawings for mine excavations, including drill cut-outs, re-muck cut-outs, safety bays, and sumps. Continuous water flow monitoring is also being conducted, Ximen said.
“The engineering and environmental works are required to be completed and approved prior to starting underground mine development,” Ximen told investors in a statement. “The company is addressing these items concurrently in anticipation of starting underground as soon as possible.”
In addition to its three fully-owned gold projects in BC, Ximen has also acquired control of the Kenville Gold mine near Nelson, which comes with surface and underground rights, buildings and equipment.
