Zacatecas Silver Corp has announced a 25% increase in its inferred silver Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) from the previous MRE completed in December 2021 at the Panuco South and North deposits within the Zacatecas property in Mexico.
The precious metals projects developer said the Panuco South deposit is now showing an inferred resource of 3.04 million tonnes at 179 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent for 17.5 million ounces of silver equivalent, while the Panuco North deposit now has an estimated inferred resource of 0.37 million tonnes of 255 g/t silver equivalent for 3.0 million silver equivalent ounces.
“The most recent drilling carried out, with assay results previously released, was a focused drill program intercepting numerous strong silver grades near surface and at depth,” Zacatecas Silver chief operating officer Christopher Wilson said in a statement.
“The along strike and down dip extensions of Panuco South and Panuco North remain open to depth and continue to represent excellent targets for further near-surface and deep drilling,” Wilson added.
Zacatecas also noted that it plans to restart drilling at the El Cristo vein system with the goal of increasing silver resources at the Zacatecas properties.
Zacatecas Silver owns two key projects: the Esperanza gold project in Morelos State, Mexico; and the Zacatecas silver project in Zacatecas State, Mexico.
