Royal Helium Ltd (TSX-V:RHC, OTCQB:RHCCF) has announced the appointment of Karl Kurz to the company’s board of directors.
The helium projects developer said Kurz has over 40 years of energy industry experience in the public and private markets, including serving as the chief operating officer for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:APC) from December 2006 through March 2009.
“We are pleased to have Karl join the Royal team as we expand our focus from helium exploration to now include production and sales,” Royal Helium CEO Andrew Davidson said in a statement.
“His senior management experience with some of America's largest energy corporations will be invaluable as Royal expands its operations in Canada and increasingly in the US,” he added.
Royal Helium noted that Kurz currently serves on the boards of companies such as Devon Energy and American Water Works.
As well, the company announced that it has granted 500,000 stock options to certain Royal Helium consultants and advisors, exercisable at $0.40 per share and, if not exercised, expire May 25, 2028.
Royal Helium controls over one million acres of prospective helium land across southern Saskatchewan and southeastern Alberta. All of Royal's lands are in close vicinity to highways, roads, cities and importantly, close to existing oil and gas infrastructure, with a significant portion of its land near existing helium-producing locations. The firm intends to become a leading North American producer of the high-value commodity.
