Quadrise PLC (AIM:QED) has paused its fuel trial in Morocco due to unexpected mechanical issues.
The AIM-listed company (QED) began an industrial demonstration test this week, in line with the client's production calendar.
It has reported that the initial cold start-up and warm-up sequence of the client's combustion unit was successfully executed using Quadrise's proprietary MSAR fuel.
But, a crucial mechanical component in the pumping and heating unit (PHU) progressively failed at full load, leading to a decrease in the unit's load capacity.
Quadrise told investors it has sourced a replacement part in the UK and plans to expedite it to the Moroccan client. This will enable the company to resume and optimise full-load combustion trials upon its arrival.
"We are obviously disappointed not to have completed the trial during May due to an unexpected mechanical issue in our PHU. However, a replacement part has been purchased and expedited so that we can restart the operational production test at the next opportunity," said chief executive Jason Miles.
