e.l.f. Beauty celebrated its 17th consecutive quarter of growth as it exceeded Wall Street expectations in its fourth-quarter earnings report.
Net sales for the three months ending March 31 skyrocketed 78% to $187.4 million, surpassing analysts' forecasts of $176 million. Net income stood at $16.2 million, a significant increase from $1.6 million the previous year, while adjusted net income reached $23.8 million, up from $6.9 million.
Adjusted diluted earnings per share came in at $0.42, beating last year's $0.13 and Wall Street's estimate of $0.29.
The Oakland-based mass beauty company’s impressive results triggered a surge in trading, with e.l.f.’s share price spiking over 13% on Thursday morning.
The company gained 270 basis points of market share in the quarter and rose to become the third-largest mass cosmetics brand in the US, surpassing rivals like Covergirl.
Looking ahead to fiscal year 2024, e.l.f. anticipates net sales between $705 million and $720 million, with adjusted net income ranging from $98.5 million to $100.5 million.
