Burcon NutraScience Corp (TSX:BU) said it is now offering pilot plant processing and scale-up validation to its partners and customers through the expansion of its protein development and innovation business.
The company said at its 10,000-square-foot Winnipeg Technical Centre, including lab and pilot scale production facilities, it uses cutting-edge commercial processing equipment for end-to-end product development.
The company said its infrastructure and food processing expertise can be leveraged by manufacturers looking to upcycle by-products, develop end-to-end processes, or validate and scale up a process.
Burcon CEO Kip Underwood said, after a successful round of financing, the company was thrilled to be moving forward with its Burcon 2.0 strategy.
"In order to engage the market and improve our customer intimacy, we are excited to offer Burcon's world-class expertise and pilot-scale processing as a service," Underwood said.
