United Lithium Corp (CSE:ULTH) has announced that it continues to make lithium pegmatite discoveries at the Bergby lithium project in Sweden, receiving the final set of core assay results from its 2022 drilling campaign that showed 1,200 metres (m) of total lithium-bearing pegmatite strike length across three mineralized trends.
The exploration and development company said it discovered two new lithium rich pegmatites in 2022 drilling, with results that included 1.1% Li2O over 11.11m.
“The 2022 drill campaign has confirmed that the project hosts a lithium rich pegmatite field where we continue to explore for and discover new areas of lithium mineralization,” United Lithium CEO Scott Eldridge said in a statement.
“We look forward to unlocking the potential of our Bergby property through additional drilling and exploration work through the summer and fall,” he added.
United Lithium noted that the 2023 drilling program, comprising 4,000m of core drilling, is ongoing with initial results pending.
Bergby is a 100% owned, district-scale, hard rock lithium project covering 10,828 hectares near the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia in central Sweden, with a project area characterized by LCT (lithium-cesium-tantalum enriched-type) granitic pegmatites, according to the company.
