Accesso Technology Group PLC (AIM:ACSO, OTC:LOQPF) has launched a new point-of-sale (PoS) platform based on intellectual property (IP) acquired last year.
Named ‘accesso Freedom’, it is the first tier-one restaurant and retail solution designed specifically for the cloud, the company said, aimed at clients operating multiple restaurant and retail venues, including theme parks and attractions, ski areas, cultural venues, resorts and casinos.
Accesso said it has built the platform to serve the rapidly evolving marketplace in shifting from traditional PoS terminals to options such as mobile ordering, kiosks and self-service retail check-outs, with functionality to enable operators to use emerging technologies such as chatbot ordering and voice-based transactions.
“Today’s guest requires convenience and flexibility, and the industry needs a solution for restaurant and retail selling that can deliver on those demands,” said chief executive Steve Brown.
The newly designed platform is fully hosted, with software that allows customers to unify restaurant and retail transactions on a single platform, and designed to scale up for venues of any size.
Elements of the original Omnico technology, for which Accesso bought the intellectual property for £0.75mln in July last year, are utilised by venue operators including Disney, Universal, Sea World and Six Flags
