Shares of Polymetal International PLC (LSE:POLY) plunged 10% in early trading on news that its Russian subsidiary, JSC Polymetal, has been placed on the US Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list (SDN).
The firm, which has operations in Russia and Kazakhstan, said it and its legal advisors are assessing the implications of this designation by the US Department of State.
It stressed its commitment to sanctions compliance, assuring investors that it takes these matters seriously.
At 9.52 am, the stock was changing hands for 205p, down 25p. Earlier in the session it hit 141p.
