Instagrammers have seen calm restored after hundreds of thousands of people reported issues with the site on Sunday evening.
Some 180,000 people reported difficulty accessing the Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:FB)-owned site in the US, alongside over 52,000 in the UK, just after 11.00pm GMT on Sunday evening, according to website Downdetector.
"Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing Instagram,” a company spokesperson said. “We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted.”
Issues were first reported shortly before 11.00pm on Sunday, with these being largely fixed by 1.00am on Monday morning.

Users had reported in-app messages saying “sorry, something went wrong,” alongside issues refreshing their feeds, with complaints of outages being made across the world.
Canadian, Japanese, Mexican and European-based users were among those to report issues, which appeared to be more widespread than other recent outages.
