ANGLE PLC (AIM:AGL, OTCQX:ANPCY), the developer of the Parsortix liquid biopsy, said that its long-serving chairman Garth Selvey will step down from the role and the company's board in September.
Dr Jan Groen, currently an independent director of the company, will replace him.
Selvey, who joined ANGLE as a non-executive in 2006 and became chairman a year later, has been instrumental in steering the company towards significant advancements.
Notably, under his stewardship, ANGLE's revolutionary Parsortix system evolved from initial adoption by leading oncology research centres to its US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approval for metastatic breast cancer use last year.
"I would like to thank Garth for his exceptional contribution to the ANGLE journey. His support and guidance have been gratefully received, especially during pivotal moments in the Company's development," said chief executive Andrew Newland.
"He leaves ANGLE in a strong position to capitalise on its FDA product clearance and experiencing good momentum in both its product and services businesses."
Groen, meanwhile, brings a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in medical diagnostics, bridging both pharma and clinical sales.
His market insight will be pivotal as ANGLE accelerates the roll-out of its commercial product and expands its clinical laboratories and CTC services, investors were told.
Groen, currently the CEO and chairman at Intravacc, joined the ANGLE board in November 2018. He has previously held top roles at Euronext-listed genomic diagnostics companies, MDxHealth and Agendia, specialising in prostate and breast cancer respectively.
Groen's appointment comes on the heels of Juliet Thompson and Dr Joseph Eid's addition to ANGLE's board earlier this year.
