Shares in Genedrive PLC, a pioneer in molecular diagnostics, soared by 24% after the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) endorsed in draft guidelines the use of its CYP2C19 gene test in patients before administering clopidogrel, a medication used to prevent strokes.
Its point-of-care test, which is yet to be launched, was modelled in NICE's evaluations and was found to be the most cost-effective option for the procedure.
The company is expecting UK regulatory approval before the final report in October.
