Gander Gold Corp (CSE:GAND) said it has commenced a 70-hole rotary air blast (RAB) drill program across four of its gold projects in Newfoundland.
The company said it has kicked off its drill program at the Gander North project located 15 kilometres east of New Found Gold’s Keats’ Zone discovery.
Drilling has started in the “Viking” area of the project where VLF surveys have pointed to conductive structures beneath extensive soil anomalies.
During the drill program, data from daily XRF measurements and in-hole televiewer will help guide the program and prioritize targets for follow-up diamond drilling.
Gander Gold plans to use geological mapping, prospecting, ground VLF-Mag geophysical surveys, and ground penetrating radar surveys ahead of drilling as required to optimize target definition.
The company’s Gander North and Mt Peyton projects are both fully permitted for preliminary RAB drilling and follow-up diamond drilling, and permits are pending for the BLT and Cape Ray II projects, Gander Gold noted.
Across its portfolio of eight gold projects in Newfoundland, Gander Gold said it has outlined more than 100 linear kilometres of potential strike along which gold-in-soil geochemistry anomalies are overlain on top of identified geophysical anomalies.
