Arizona Silver Exploration encounters new vein while drilling at Philadelphia gold-silver project

Arizona Silver Exploration has provided investors with an update on its drill program to test the down-dip continuity of high-grade gold-silver mineralization at its Philadelphia project in Arizona.

The company said it has completed the first core hole to a depth of 319.5 metres and it can only provide a geological description of the drill hole as it is yet to receive assay results.

Drilling confirmed the down-dip extensions of both the Hangingwall (HW) and Footwall) vein systems in addition to intersecting a third new vein called the Upper Vein, Arizona Silver reported.

The new Upper Vein is composed of calcite-cemented quartz breccia with a dominant calcite matrix and is typical of many vein intercepts higher up-dip in the Philadelphia system.

The company noted that they have not seen this vein in previous drilling which suggests it may be getting closer to the source of the fluids that produce the veins.

“We are pleased that we continue to hit the dominant veins in the system as we drill deeper, and the thickness of the FW vein has not only increased but the character of the vein appears to be improving with the loss of calcite and the increase in silica,” said Arizona Silver VP-Exploration Greg Hahn in a statement.

“The discovery of a new upper vein is also exciting, as it portends the potential for additional veins as we get deeper into the system.”

Arizona Silver is continuing with core drilling, with a new -45 degree hole from the current pad location to test the western portion of a geophysical anomaly believed to be a clap cap above the boiling zone and mineralization associated with the Red Hills target at the property.

Arizona Silver is a young exploration company focused on exploring gold-silver properties in western Arizona and Nevada.
