On The Beach shares fall as it plays catch-up in the second half

On the Beach Group PLC (LSE:OTB) (OTB) shares fell 9% in early trade after investors took the view that the company's first-half performance may leave the online travel agent struggling to meet some punchy full-year targets.

Revenues grew to £73.2mln, while earnings were up 11% to £4.1mln in the six months ended March 31, 2023.

While travel industry results are always second-half weighted, OTB may still have to sprint to catch up if it is to meet consensus estimates.

The City is expecting revenues to be £167mln for the full year, giving EBITDA of £35mln.

At just a shade past 9 am, the stock was changing hands for 115.43p, down 11.97p.
